CoookkieMonster's Christmas Forge Challenge


"Up on the housetop reindeer paws, out jumps good old COOKIE MONSTER!" No that is not how that song traditionally goes, but that's the way it goes this time! With Christmas just a few weeks away I am hosting a Christmas Forging Challenge! Basically, I want to see what you can do in Halo 4 to make Christmas themes and aesthetics. Obviously, since the RACETRACKS gametype is expensive with shields and vehicles, I don't expect the tracks themselves to be too long. Shoot for at least 30 seconds, but I won't make that a rule. I want these tracks to be fun and exciting and have awesome Christmas colors, decorations, aesthetics, lights, and anything else Christmas related. I don't just want to see a sleigh in the sky or a giant snowman; be creative and original. Also, I don't just want to see a bunch of maps on the 3 forge maps. You can forge these on any track.

Rules:

• Only one map per person, but submissions can be changed before the deadline
• If the map is made by more than one person, please list all of the creators
• Must be made on Halo 4, not Halo 3 or Halo Reach
• Map MUST be in your fileshare
• Must have a Christmas theme, including aesthetics
• Must be compatible for the RACETRACKS gametype
• Must be compatible for 16 people
• During voting period, you may not vote for your own map
• Judges may not enter
• Map must be made after the date of this contest
  
  How to Submit:

  Prizes:
• 1st Place: 500 HT Points, Map Feature, YouTube Video Feature
• 2nd Place: 300 HT Points
• 3rd Place: 100 HT Points

Judging:
Judging will be done by me, Jeffh3962, Tripmine413, v Ionized and a few others. We will rate each map from 1 to 5 (5 being the best), the scores will be added up, and the 5 maps with the highest overall scores will then move on to community voting.

Community Voting:
Community Voting will take place after the judging period, and voters will choose their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd favorite choice. First will receive 3 points, second will receive 2 points, and third will receive one point. The map with the highest score will be deemed the winner.

Deadlines:

• Submission Deadline will be December 25th, 2012.
• Judgement Deadline will be December 31st, 2012.
• Voting Deadline will be January 7th, 2013.

A Christmas themed ST sounds nice. On Christmas Day when I get Halo 4 that shall be my first project.

My friend is bringing it to my house tomorrow but my main plan is to download my map Function from my friend's fileshare (I was at his house when I made it) and fix it, then put it on my hard drive. After that I may begin work on it.

Sounds excellent; however, I can't give you any feedback or advice, seeing as how it's somewhat of a conflict of interest with me being the one running the contest. =D

I started mine, but it wasn't that good. I've just started again with building one aesthetic, but hopefully I'll get my first one out within a week or so. I'll almost certainly make another one/improve the first before this ends, so hopefully I can make something good!
