Okay, so I listened to this podcast I heard online about how your player score is seperate/adds to the total score and it gave me an idea. Halo 4 gives you a score for kills + hill points. Just make the player kills = 1 point and add hill points to player score and it should work. And if you can't add hill points to player score, simply have a player/team notify everyone else when they win. Just bouncing ideas off everyone.

I don't think it does.

Yeah you don't get ordinance points for getting hill points, only if you're the first one in, or hold it for 10 seconds etc.

Dream and I both tried that and it didn't work at all. We ended up having three separate goals so everyone could have a good chance of scoring a point. Not sure where you got that info from.

That doesn't seem likely since kills only matter in Slayer variants and hill points only matter in KOTH variants. I did play BattleTracks, however, and it was pretty fun! WastedDuckling9 made a fun Nascar BT map, and if I'm correct, x DREAM 76 x remade his BattleTracks gametype.

I think I am getting back on Halo now that the title update is out and you can turn off instant respawns. I also figured out a way so you can't cheat in Battle Lasers. I just put a portal around the whole track. The spawn is just on a different part of the map. You just teleport in. So if you try to get off the mongoose, you go back to the spawn. It works really well with Battle Lasers cause now there won't be anymore cheating. Will be posting a thread i think soon if the testing goes well. If anyone wants to be involved in the Beta let me know.

I'd love to help out. Been waiting for Battle Tracks to come back. I experimented with Ordinance drops on a track I helped someone out on. Standard BT would be really awesome in Halo 4, as long as people are willing to put some weapons down on their tracks!

That's not a new idea. We both posted that idea right after Halo 4 was released. Why take so long to use it lol?

But if you put a teleporter on the whole track, what happens if the driver gets killed and the gunner needs to change seats? Also, I can't wait for BT to come back, I'd love to help with testing if you need me to ;D

I know it's not a new idea. The instant respawn thing really messed up BT. Now that the games are coming out where you can disable instant respawn, the games will play much better. I am not sure if they are out yet. Might be next week. I will check today when I sign back on Halo 4. I have not played in a long time.. I am mostly going to be working on improving Battle Lasers. Battle Snipes is still broken because people are getting out of their mongooses and sniping on the tracks. With Battle Lasers you don't need to get out to switch seats. The Laser is set to 125% damage. So both people blow up no matter what. In Snipes you would have to switch seats if the driver dies. You can still play snipes on a map with no portals but the game will have to have honor rules. The new Battle Lasers, as long as the map is set up with the portal, has no honor rules. If you try to jump out to Laser someone, it takes you back to the spawn. If the game works out, I will ask if anyone is interested in converting some good tracks to be set up for Battle Lasers. All you need to do is put one or more portals around the whole track. Next just make a new spawn somewhere out side the track area. That way the portals wont cover the spawn. Last just make a separate portal in the spawn so players can drive out of the spawn and appear at the beginning of the track. We played one test game last month and it worked out great. We just need more tracks to be set up! Thanks.

The portal idea is just to stop cheating in Battle Lasers. The portal idea is just for Lasers. It doesn't work for Battle Snipes cause you need to get out and drive if your driver gets shot. You can just use a regular track for that. The laser blows up both players so there is no need to be on foot in Battle Lasers. It really needs to be done if you are hosting big Laser parties. We tried to do it without the portals and some random players where just jumping out of their mongooses and shooting everyone. If you would like to convert some tracks, let me know. We need to get some good tracks converted. If anoyone if interested, just put the name of the map followed by BL or BT. So we know what tracks have been updated.

Ok,, awesome, I'll probably make some BT tracks soon then! Is there anything special to do to the hill, do we need three hills or anything?

You can make a new track or just convert some tracks that have already been made. I have seen a lot of good maps in the map section that would be awesome to convert! They just need the portals to be put in and the spawn moved. If you want to update the goal as well, my advise is to put there goals next to each other. Battle Tracks will still work if the track only has one goal. However, if you put there goals right next to each other, then in a big party you will almost never see the problem of two teams contesting the "one single" goal point. Even if you want to make it two goals, that is better than one. Again, three is the best amount but two is great also.

Ok, cool. And does that mean that teams get 2 points a lap (driver and gunner)? If so, in snipes, if the gunner dies, they will only get one point, although I suppose that rewards teams for killing at least 1 enemy, even if they don't kill both. If you wanted to stop this, you could make the hill really low, so the driver gets points but not the gunner (IDK if that works), but if someone flipped through the hill it could be bad.

I actually like the way it worked out. If you are playing snipes and loose your gunner, than you will only get one point instead of two. It is perfect this way cause it's a reward if your gunner survives till the end of the lap. It is a bonus if you have a good gunner that avoids being killed. We will be testing some maps later today if you want in or anyone else.
