That's not a new idea. We both posted that idea right after Halo 4 was released. Why take so long to use it lol?

I know it's not a new idea. The instant respawn thing really messed up BT. Now that the games are coming out where you can disable instant respawn, the games will play much better. I am not sure if they are out yet. Might be next week. I will check today when I sign back on Halo 4. I have not played in a long time.. I am mostly going to be working on improving Battle Lasers. Battle Snipes is still broken because people are getting out of their mongooses and sniping on the tracks. With Battle Lasers you don't need to get out to switch seats. The Laser is set to 125% damage. So both people blow up no matter what. In Snipes you would have to switch seats if the driver dies. You can still play snipes on a map with no portals but the game will have to have honor rules. The new Battle Lasers, as long as the map is set up with the portal, has no honor rules. If you try to jump out to Laser someone, it takes you back to the spawn. If the game works out, I will ask if anyone is interested in converting some good tracks to be set up for Battle Lasers. All you need to do is put one or more portals around the whole track. Next just make a new spawn somewhere out side the track area. That way the portals wont cover the spawn. Last just make a separate portal in the spawn so players can drive out of the spawn and appear at the beginning of the track. We played one test game last month and it worked out great. We just need more tracks to be set up! Thanks.

The portal idea is just to stop cheating in Battle Lasers. The portal idea is just for Lasers. It doesn't work for Battle Snipes cause you need to get out and drive if your driver gets shot. You can just use a regular track for that. The laser blows up both players so there is no need to be on foot in Battle Lasers. It really needs to be done if you are hosting big Laser parties. We tried to do it without the portals and some random players where just jumping out of their mongooses and shooting everyone. If you would like to convert some tracks, let me know. We need to get some good tracks converted. If anoyone if interested, just put the name of the map followed by BL or BT. So we know what tracks have been updated.

You can make a new track or just convert some tracks that have already been made. I have seen a lot of good maps in the map section that would be awesome to convert! They just need the portals to be put in and the spawn moved. If you want to update the goal as well, my advise is to put there goals next to each other. Battle Tracks will still work if the track only has one goal. However, if you put there goals right next to each other, then in a big party you will almost never see the problem of two teams contesting the "one single" goal point. Even if you want to make it two goals, that is better than one. Again, three is the best amount but two is great also.

Ok, cool. And does that mean that teams get 2 points a lap (driver and gunner)? If so, in snipes, if the gunner dies, they will only get one point, although I suppose that rewards teams for killing at least 1 enemy, even if they don't kill both. If you wanted to stop this, you could make the hill really low, so the driver gets points but not the gunner (IDK if that works), but if someone flipped through the hill it could be bad.

I actually like the way it worked out. If you are playing snipes and loose your gunner, than you will only get one point instead of two. It is perfect this way cause it's a reward if your gunner survives till the end of the lap. It is a bonus if you have a good gunner that avoids being killed. We will be testing some maps later today if you want in or anyone else.
