Hey, so something that kind of bothered me in the last Velocity tournament I was in, is that I passed Jared only due to points granted to me through being wrecked. Jared definitely beat me in that tournament, and I still feel like those wrecks still impacted my ability to compete in a position that I may have been in otherwise. In my very humble, cancer infested opinion, I don't feel that it's fair to Jared to suffer from things that other racers did, that didn't affect him, and end up losing a percentage that he earned. I hope to start a discussion on a way to give points that might be deserved for those that find themselves a victim of unfair racing, but in a way that doesn't take away from a percentage that another racer earned.

I think that, in cases like this, Jared should still get the percentage that he earned along with me getting 4th place percentage (since I didn't tie in points with PANCAKE). Jared earned his 4th place, and I may have been able to get 4th or even better if it weren't for those wrecks. To reiterate my initial opinion, I just don't think that it's fair for one racer to lose an entire position based off of the actions of a more or less, "dirty," racer against another.

Hopefully, I didn't come off as disrespectful. Today was definitely a really fun day of Velocity racing. Probably the most fun I've ever had in the squad.

this has been the problem we've had with intentional wrecking compensation. And i agree with jeffs proposed change to it

I am not a fan of the time based system, too many facets of it to explore to even be able to determine whether it could be considered a feasible solution.

The reason that i am fine with doing it the way it is currently (Jeff i am directing this to your comment about Jared in the last tournament). If you did not get wrecked then you would have gotten a position that would have left him outside of 4th in points standings in the end of the tournament. This is how it ended up with the official standings after review from unofficial standings. I know it sucks to think you have a position locked down and then lose it due to a wreck ruling, however that is why they are called unofficial results. If we reviewed wrecks in between races and judged then it would not give the same illusion of having a position taken away from you. Reviewing wrecks in between races is obviously not a time constraint feasible solution however obviously.

ALSO ON A DIFFERENT NOTE

As per Jeff pointed out last night, the more impromptu tournaments we do, the more scheduled races are getting taken off the books and the seasons are schedule wise getting shorter. I think (and maybe this is what Jeff said last night?) that we should not count impromptu tournaments against the season tournament count. (They would still count for personal racer stats and leaderboards).

Well if you guys are seriously considering giving me 5th in the tourney then you should take a look at my prophecy race because I could easily be getting 3rd in the tournament. I saved the film. Also I think that a time based thing is a much more fair way of doing it and I would be more than happy to show how so.

To just confirm Bomber, you have been given enough points to put you in a tie with Jeff for that tournament, due to your lag race on Prophecy. Tournament results have been updated.
